必须注意， much too 这个状语只能修饰形容词，而 too much 这个修饰语只能作表语使用。
例如：
I am afraid your paper is much too short. 恐怕你的论文未免太短了。（不说…… too much short ）
The school ping-pong champion was too much for us. 校际乒乓球锦标赛我们够不上。（ too much 只能用作表语）
比较：
I am afraid your paper is much too short. 恐怕你的论文未免太短了。（ much too 是 too 的强势形式）
I am afraid your paper is too short. 恐怕你的论文太短了。（不说…… too much short ）
